Job description:

The European Platform for Democratic Elections (EPDE) invites civic technology and election technology organizations to participate in EPDE ElectLab 2025 (29 June - 3 July), our flagship annual event bringing together domestic election observation CSOs and election experts from across Europe and beyond.

We are particularly seeking organizations to take part in our New Tech Show & Tell sessions, where developers will demonstrate innovative applications of technology in election observation using real-life case studies and practical examples.

What We're Looking For:

We invite civic technology and election technology organizations to showcase their innovations that have been or could be applied in domestic election observation. During a series of New Tech Show & Tell sessions, developers, either independently or in partnership with election observation organizations, will present real-world applications of their technologies through interactive demonstrations and case studies.

Session Topics:

The New Tech Show & Tell sessions may include, but are not limited to, the following demonstration areas:
●Mobile/online data collection platforms: types, compatibilities, potential collaborative approaches, scaling of findings
●Statistical analysis software for detecting electoral anomalies
●Social media monitoring tools
●Crowdsourcing tools for incident reporting and visualization (mapping)
●Evaluation of video recordings
●Other

Beyond the Show & Tell sessions, participating organizations are invited to:

●Attend thematic sessions designed for election observers to understand field challenges and needs
●Engage in structured discussions with election observation practitioners about practical application cases and gaps and opportunities for new tool development
●Propose collaborative sessions focusing on interoperability and standardization
●Access networking opportunities with potential partner organizations and funders

What We Provide

●Platform and technical setup for demonstrations
●Audience of engaged election observers, experts, and other tech developers
●Networking opportunities with potential partners and users
●Coverage of travel and accommodation costs (subject to budget availability)
●Post-event collaboration facilitation and follow-up support

Requirements:

To participate, please submit:

1.Organization Profile:

●Brief description of your organization and mission
●Overview of your technology focus and target users
●Examples of previous work in election or civic technology

2.Technology Demonstration Proposal:

●Detailed outline of the technology/tool you wish to demonstrate
●Real-world case study or use case you will present
●Technical requirements for your demonstration
●Anticipated audience interaction and engagement format

3.Partnership Information:

●Details of any existing partnerships with election observation organizations
●Interest in developing new collaborations through ElectLab
●Specific areas where you seek input from election observers

4.Practical Details:

●Team members who will attend and present
●Language capabilities (English is required, other languages are a plus)
●Travel requirements and accessibility needs
